Confused--Pls Help!!

We have bought an apartment in Mumbai , India from a reputed builder.He claims to have used Italian Marble for flooring. Now when we are to take possession of the apartment we see some cracks on the floor filled up by some Material (http://g654.org) . When we questioned the builder he claims that Italian Marble (http://www.lightemprador.com) is very brittle and (http://maplered.com) such cracks are bound to appear everywhere. Pls suggest if such is the characteristic of Italian Marble (http://www.lightemprador.com) . If you require any additional information pls let me know so that i can go back to the builder.
